Dr Bokor graduated from Monash University, Victoria with honours in 1977. He completed residencies in Melbourne at the Alfred Hospital and then trained in Orthopaedics in Sydney on the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Programme. He completed his post-graduate fellowship in Sports Medicine in Sydney, at North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre working with Drs Cross and Pinczewski. He then undertook further post-graduate training at the University of Ontario, Canada in Shoulder Surgery with Dr Richard Hawkins. Dr Bokor now practices in Sydney doing exclusive shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery. He is currently a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and a Member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Dr Bokor has current appointments as a Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital and the Norwest Private Hospital. His other appointments include past President of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia. He has recently been appointed as Associate Professor and Chairman of the Deparment of Orthopaedics at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine at Macquarie University, Sydney, NSW. Dr Bokor's specific research interests include the diagnosis and management of Shoulder Instability; prosthesis design and techniques for Total Shoulder Replacement; and the pathophysiology of Rotator Cuff Disease and its treatment. Dr Bokor has published numerous papers on subjects including knee cruciate ligament injuries, shoulder instability, impingement tendinitis and rotator cuff tears. He has contributed chapters to a number of orthopaedic and sports medicine text books.
