Profile: Dr Anthony Cadden is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon who has been providing exclusive treatment of foot and ankle conditions since 2008, after completing his orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.He initially began as a junior doctor at Wollongong Public Hospital in 1998 before embarking on a career in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2001. He has worked as both an unaccredited and advanced trainee in Wollongong before embarking on subspecialty foot and ankle training. He has worked under Dr John Negrine and Dr David Lunz gaining vast experience in forefoot surgery before travelling to Toronto Canada to work with internationally renowned Dr Tim Daniels.During 18 months of fellowship training he gained vast experience in total ankle joint replacement surgery, deformity correction for flat feet and cavus feet, and management of complex forefoot deformity. Training also involved management of complex ankle and foot joint arthritis, involving fusion or joint sparing procedures. Since returning to Australia he has gained further experience in arthroscopic techniques of the ankle and subtalar joint, achilles tendon, 1st MTP joint. He has been trained in minimally invasive techniques for bunion correction, deformity correction of toes, and achilles tendon repair.Over the past few years Dr Anthony Cadden has been involved in the training of other foot and ankle surgeons in minimally invasive bunion surgery and total ankle replacement surgery, passing on his experience from fellowship training and clinical experience since starting private practice in the Wollongong region in 2009.
