She was accepted into the RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) training programme in 1999, and moved to Brisbane for four years to complete the basic training.She then worked in the United Kingdom, studying ultrasound and laparoscopic surgery, in conjunction with the RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) and the RCR (Royal College of Radiologists).Dr. Kiesey-Calding then returned to Australia, and worked at the Cairns Hospital as a staff specialist. She instigated and ran the high risk obstetric ultrasound clinic for the hospital and was also involved in the JCU medical school teaching and assessment programme, an association that she has continued.Dr. Kiesey-Calding made a commitment to the community of Cairns in 2007 to practice private obstetrics, gynaecology and to provide a clinical obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound service. She instructs for ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) an internationally recognized course and was nominated as instructor of the year in 2015.Most recently, she has been nominated for the Cairns Woman of the Year in 2016 for her work with the MonaLisa Touch laser therapy for vulvovaginal atrophy.
