Profile: Ramsay Cairns is delighted to welcome Dr Elizabeth Jackson a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist.Dr Jackson grew up in Brisbane and moved to Melbourne to complete her undergraduate medical studies at Monash University. She completed her residency years at the Gold Coast Hospital. Liz trained for her membership with RANZCOG in Queensland at the Townsville Hospital, Caboolture Hospital and Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital (2014). She has also worked in general O&G in Hobart, Wagga Wagga, Burnie and Port Macquarie. Liz travelled interstate to pursue her interest in operative laparoscopy with two elective years spent at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South Australia, in general gynaecology and subspecialty areas of urogynaecology (2012) and advance laparoscopy (2013).During her training Liz gained a Masters of Reproductive Medicine (UNSW).In moving to Cairns, Liz is keen to continue as a Regional Generalist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Professionally, Dr Jackson strives to practice evidence-based medicine. Her areas of interest are in operative gynaecology, fertility and obstetrics.Liz met her husband Ian, a white water kayaker, during her time in North Queensland. She has returned with Ian and their two children, to enjoy the annual wet season and raise her family in the Far North. When not working, Liz enjoys cycling, bushwalking and camping with her family.
