Profile: Ramsay Cairns welcomes Dr Jens Gaarslev, Staff Specialist and Director of Psychiatry at The Cairns Clinic.Dr Jens Gaarslev recently relocated to Cairns fron New Zealand where he completed his RANZCP fellowship.In 2011, Dr Gaarslev received his consultancies in Denmark and Norway as Consultant Psychiatrist. Dr Gaarslev has mainly been working in the Forensic Psychiatric services in Denmark and as a General Adult Psychiatrist in Norway.Dr Gaarslev comes to the clinic with extensive experience from both community and hospital Psychiatry including dealing with Psychiatric emergencies.Dr Gaarslev moved to Auckland, New Zealand in 2012, where he consulted in the public mental health services, until such time that he relocated to Cairns this year. Dr Gaarslev has a special interest in personality disorders and substance use disorders.Dr Gaarslev recently arrived in Cairns with his partner and their lovely daughter. He is very excited to be in this beautiful part of the world and is looking forward to settling in Cairns.
