She then undertook specialist psychiatry training in Brisbane before moving to Cairns to be close to family in 1998. For the past 15 years Dr Bayley has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. She spent eleven of those years as Clinical Director of the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and ATOD Service before deciding to expand her horizons beyond Queensland Health into private practice in August, 2014.Over the past years Dr Bayley has been an active member of many statewide RANZCP and Queensland Health Psychiatry Committees and is passionate about ensuring regional and rural Queenslanders receive top class psychiatric care regardless of geographic obstacles. She is also committed to ensuring junior doctors and medical students have access to high standards of psychiatry training within Far North Queensland.Dr Bayley enjoys working with all patients over the age of 18 and has Special interests: in perinatal psychiatry, psychiatric and general medical comorbidity and psychiatry of old age.In her non- work time Dr Bayley may often be found beside a soccer or cricket field supporting her two sons in their sporting endeavours.Dr Bayley can be contacted any time to discuss patients of concern and is happy to make arrangements for urgent reviews where possible.Dr Bayley supports adult inpatients at The Cairns Clinic.
