About Dr William Tjhin

Dr William Tjhin is a locally trained general surgeon with a further three year post Fellowship specialisation in:
- Thyroid, parathyroid and endocrine surgery
- Breast surgery in New South Wales
- Laparoscopic and emergency general surgery in Western Australia.
He provides prompt and personalised care in the treatment and surveillance of thyroid, parathyroid and breast neoplasm, including comprehensive lymph node dissections if needed. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery.
All care for cancer patients is supported by a multi-specialty team. Necessary vocal cord endoscopic examinations for neck surgery are done during the consultation.
He is a keen proponent for keyhole surgery for hernias, gallbladder and emergency abdominal surgery. Open access gastroscopy and colonoscopy investigation of polyps or bleeding is also provided.
Dr William Tjhin is an avid contributor to the training of medical students and surgical trainee, as well as GP and allied health conferences. He continues to contribute such sessions and the UWA mentoring program. He is a deserved recipient of 2013 Clinical Teacher Award.
