Profile: Prior to taking up the position as ‘Clinical Director of Surgery’ and ‘Consultant General Surgeon’ at Ipswich Hospital two years ago, I have been in Public and Private Practice as General Surgeon in Auckland, Thames & Hamilton in New Zealand for several years.I am a General Surgeon with experience and training from Australia, New Zealand, UK and India. During my training in Australasia and overseas, I have had the privilege of working in major tertiary specialised surgical units of international repute.In my current public hospital position as a Consultant General & Breast Surgeon I do a wide variety of General surgical and Laparoscopic procedures, Breast and Endocrine (Thyroid) surgery, as well as Upper and Lower GI endoscopies. Breast Surgery is my area of special interest.In my private practice I offer the following services:Laparoscopic surgery Cholecystectomy, Fundoplication, Hernia repairs, Colonic resections.Breast surgery (Benign and Malignant)Endocrine surgery (eg Thyroidectomy)Upper and Lower GI EndoscopiesWide spectrum of General & colorectal surgeryColorectal Cancer, Haemorrhoids – Banding / surgery), Pilonidal sinusVaricose Vein surgeryAcute surgical emergenciesI would also be prepared to give a talk on surgical conditions during the CME sessions of your practice or your CME group with prior arrangement.
