• 12.04.2022Not a good experience. The excessively high consultation fees coupled with the service provided by the sleep physician constituted quite an appalling experience. The doctor claims to be a sleep physician and during our first of two sessions was at pains to highlight his extensive experience in the treatment of sleep disorders yet demonstrated no understanding nor any interest in the treatment of insomnia. Ignored the medical history relevant to my sleep problems and recommended that I repeat the techniques that have failed in the past at treating my condition which I quite rightly refused because I had already attempted those treatments at great expense and time to myself for no benefit or improvement to my symptoms. Then recommenced that I try a new drug which is not covered under the PBS and hence very expensive and which has received poor reviews from patients and by his own admission during our second consultation was not a drug that he liked or rated highly. Yet he completely contradicted himself when during the same consultation he used my lack of interest in trying this drug and the other treatments that have not worked in the past to refuse to assist with other potential treatments that have not been fully explored and stated that I would just have to live with my condition. Then finally, when I asked if he could provide advice and more information about those other treatments to assist me in conducting my own research, he refused to do so. The whole experience was a complete waste of my time and money. As a final point of interest, his communication skills and interpersonal attitude are very ordinary.
