In 2010, she undertook a one year fellowship in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics, at the Child Development Unit, Keperra, Brisbane. Working with a dedicated team of paediatricians and allied health professionals Dr Skiathitis received specific training in assessing children with developmental and behavioural difficulties, including autism, ADHD and other complex medical and diagnostic concerns.In 2012 to 2013, for 12 months, Dr Skiathitis was practising as Staff Specialist in General Paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital. A rewarding part of her work included working with disabled children (including neurodisability), and coordinating many services and support therapies (e.g. child psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists and geneticists.)Dr Skiathitis is passionate about assisting children with developmental needs to achieve to their full potential and understands the importance of advocating for and supporting their families and carers. Dr Skiathitis also speaks fluent Greek.
