Profile: Dr Lau is widely regarded as a leading Urologist in Australia particularly in the field of minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and robotic treatment for a variety of kidney and prostate conditions especially in the field of oncology. He pioneered the development of Laparoscopic Kidney Surgery in Australia performing the first Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy in 1998 and subsequently Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy for localised renal cancer in 2002. More recently, with the advance of Robotic Surgery, he performed the first Partial Robotic Nephrectomy with Firefly in 2013.He has been invited to demonstrate surgery and lectured in numerous conferences and workshops both in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. He has also been invited to author in surgical text books.
