Initially winning the Orthopaedic prize at Prince of Wales Hospitalin 1998, he has since gained over 15 years of experience in Orthopaedic surgery.As a medical student he completed his elective in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Austin Hospital under the supervision of Mr Julian Feller, and his passion for Orthopaedic Surgery began early in his medical training. He completed his internship in 1999 at the Austin Hospital. Arash underwent his Basic Surgical Training and Registrar training at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in various Victorian hospitals. Austin and Repatriation, Southern Health, The Northern Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, Goulburn Valley Health and Bendigo Hospitals.In 2005 he successfully entered and completed the highly competitive fellowship training in Orthopaedic surgery at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He then, as promised, worked in the country hospitals of Goulburn Valley Health and BendigoHealth servicing the Orthopaedic needs of Shepparton, Bendigo and surrounding towns in their catchment area. “I respect Country Surgeons who are really well rounded ‘Generalists’ who look after the breadth of orthopaedics from paediatrics to geriatrics, sports, trauma and arthritis and look after all the body parts lower limb, spine and upper limb.”Due to family reasons, Mr Riazi moved back to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne in 2014. “I really want to bring that country style practice to the city.”
