Dr Anthony Mason MBChB MRCPsych BSc (Hons) FRANZCP has had a broad range of training in psychiatry. He has worked as a specialist in inpatient units and community teams in the subspecialties of general adult, older adult and intellectual disability psychiatry. He has experience in the treatment of problem behaviours associated with autistic spectrum disorder in adults. Dr Mason graduated in medicine from the University of Cape Town in South Africa in 1998. He then moved to the UK where he worked and trained in psychiatry within the British National Health Service, where he learnt to implement evidence-based practice in a patient focused manner. He completed his psychiatric training on the Wessex Rotation in Bournemouth and Southampton and has worked as a specialist in the British National Health Service for 7 years before relocating to Australia. Since moving to Australia, he has worked as a Psychiatrist at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. Dr Mason now works fulltime at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital. He has been a Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists since 2018. Dr Mason’s interests are the pharmacological treatment of mood disorders and psychosis and aims to deliver evidence based treatment in a warm and caring manner.
