About Dr Roman Montanari

Dr Roman Montanari graduated in 1991 with honours from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He worked for a number of years in hospital medicine and surgery, and in emergency medicine, thus gaining a firm foundation in general medicine and pharmacology. Dr Montanari has worked full-time in psychiatry since 1996, and obtained his full Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2003. Dr Montanari’s psychiatry training was in the Northern Sydney Area Health Service, where he developed a particular interest in mood disorders, including depressive and bipolar disorders. He has also had extensive private hospital experience, working in a range of private facilities in NSW. Dr Montanari’s areas of special interest include: ECT rTMS Psychopharmacology Dr Montanari joined the team at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital in 2009 and has devoted most of his schedule to the assessment and management of the clinic’s inpatients and day therapy patients. This means that he is unable to offer an outpatient service. However, he is generally able to accept inpatient referrals.
