Profile: Timothy Wong grew up in Mount Waverley, and attended Wesley College from which he graduated Dux of his class in 1995 prior to completing his medical degree at Monash University in 2001.He then completed his basic surgical training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004 whilst working at St Vincent’s Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital prior to completing his dental degree at the University of Melbourne in 2007. He graduated with first-class honours in both his degrees and was awarded 11 academic prizes & scholarships including the Alfred Hospital Robert Power prize in Surgery (2001), Sir John Monash Scholarship (2006) and Bertha Bennett most outstanding dental student (2006). He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training in Victoria (2008-2011) prior to undertaking a further 18 month clinical fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in London at University College Hospital.On returning to Melbourne in 2013 he was appointed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin & Repatriation Hospital and Royal Dental Hospital as a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has presented at both national and international meetings in the areas of orthognathic surgery and head & neck oncology and is a member of the Australian & New Zealand Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (OMS).Memberships & QualificationsTimothy is trained in the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery including dentoalveolar and implant surgery, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma and the management of benign & malignant conditions of the head & neck.
