He was the inaugural Professor of Medical Education at The University of Western Australia (UWA), is the Director of CTEC, a world class skills training Centre and is UWA’s Professor of Surgical Education.He is a founding Director of the Bariatrics Australia Research Centre and is one of the most experienced Bariatric Surgeons in Perth.He is a Board Member of ANZMOSS, the Australian & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society, chairing the Fellow Training Committee and represents the Asia Pacific region on the Scientific Committee of IFSO, the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders
