Profile: Dr Pretorius is a South African trained orthopaedic surgeon and has been in general orthopaedic practice in Rockhampton since 2006, focussing mostly on adult reconstruction and sports injuries.He completed his medical degree at The University of the Free State in 1987 and then completed his orthopaedic training at The University of Pretoria in 1997. Dr Pretorius then completed a year of additional training/fellowship at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria doing adult reconstruction (hip/knee/shoulder arthroplasty) as well as sports medicine (shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery and reconstruction)Dr Pretorius was in private orthopaedic practise from 1998 till 2005 at The Willows in Pretoria until he migrated to Australia. He gained his Fellowship in Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007.
