Profile: Dr Vishwas Raghunath is a Nephrologist who aims to provide comprehensive, high quality, compassionate and evidence-based care to individuals with kidney disease.Dr Raghunath obtained his medical degree in India, pursued basic physician training at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, and specialist training in hospitals across Brisbane and Sydney - The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, St. George Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital. After obtaining his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, he worked as a Renal Clinical Research Fellow at St. George Hospital before entering private practice in Sydney.The pursuit of a balanced career in healthcare and academics brought him to the West Moreton region. Continued education and professional development is an essential part of his medical career. He regularly attends and has presented at many national and international conferences and meetings. He has a conjoint appointment with the University of Queensland and is passionate about teaching. He is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN), the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (SOMANZ).His interests include chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury in the community and hospital setting, hypertension, renal replacement therapies and renal supportive care. He also has a keen interest in obstetric medicine and healthcare service delivery. He has experience in managing a range of medical conditions during pregnancy and is happy to offer pre-pregnancy counselling and post-delivery care.He works at Ipswich Hospital as an Obstetric Medicine Consultant and has recently joined the St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital team.
