• 30.03.2022Dr Vipul Upadhyay is currently being investigated for having invasive pre surgery photos of a Samoan New Zealand girl on his personal computer.
He is also being accused of deliberately withholding information and medical evidence and allowing a Polynesian/Māori child to be wrongly diagnosed with a behavioural problem for what turned out to be a tethered spinal cord. This child was physically abused for almost 6 years before the parents realised that Dr Upadhyay had passed the unfortunate child on as a Cloacal Abnormality, when he was fully aware that she was a Cloacal Exstrophy which has a 100% occult spinal cord tethering.
It’s believed that Dr Upadhyay did this to cover up for his original surgery where he disposed of almost 90% of the child’s large bowel, without passing that information on in her records.
We suggest that any complex cloacal surgery where the patient has subsequently died, have their original medical notes reviewed by an independent colorectal specialist. Also, renal failures are to be independently investigated.
