Profile: Dr Vaidya Bala has been appointed as the inaugural Director of Rehabilitation at The Bayside Rehabilitation Centre at Masada Private Hospital.Dr Bala is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, an Associate Fellow with the Australian College of Health Service Management and an Associate Fellow with Swedish Society of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is accredited with the American College of Disability Medicine and American Board of Independent Medical Examiners to provide medical/legal reports and conduct independent medical examination and is a member of the Australian Pain Society.At The Bayside Rehabilitation Centre Dr Bala provides orthopaedic rehabilitation services, chronic pain management and rehabilitation for patients who are deconditioned due to complex medical conditions and postsurgery.Dr Bala also has a special interest in rehabilitation for sports injuries. In 2004 Dr Bala completed his Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine and commenced practicing as a specialist in the field. He was a recipient of the Bruce Ford Scholarship through the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2005 and went to Uppsala University in Sweden to pursue his pilot project in Brain Injury.On his return to Australia he worked in various public and private hospitals across Melbourne managing patients in need of complex rehabilitation care.In August 2013 Dr Bala completed AMA guides for Independent Medical Examination through the American College of Disability Medicine and American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He is now accredited with TAC and WorkSafe Victoria to provide impairment assessment and independent medical reports.Dr Bala provides independent medical reports through his rooms at The Bayside Rehabilitation Centre at Masada Private Hospital. He has been appointed as adjunct lecturer with Monash University.Outside of medicine Dr Bala has an avid interest in jazz and classical music of both Western and Indian origin.     Bad experience with this doctor. My son was on 60 tablets a day at discharge. Took 1 year to wean him off the meds. He didn’t know the difference between day and night. Appalling and he made a bad situation worse.

    One of the worst experiences for my son. I cant understand how he got his qualifications.
