• 02.05.2023Having had a terrible experience with 2 hip operations both of which failed, this resulted in another operation to fully replace the hip by the age of 28. I always knew I needed a hip replacement on my other hip but because of my previous experience of was extremely apprehensive.
Fast forward 20 odd years & I needed a revision on the original hip, and the other hip replaced after landing in A&E on a truely fortuitous evening.
This was the first time I met Dr Troy Smithers.
Not only is Troy a brilliant surgeon but he is a great listener and he listens to your issues & concerns. He will then offers the best solution and then he will explain what the worst solution could be, but to stay positive because it’s option A all the way.
So after the first full hip replacement it felt fantastic. We gave it 7 months and the revision of the other hip has been completed…and it was A all the way.
Where does this leave me….Knee replacements next, you’ve gotta love aging but when you find a great surgeon like Dr Troy Smithers try to keep him.
