About Dr Tom Cunneen
Dr Tom Cunneen is a dual fellowship trained ophthalmologist accepting sub-speciality and general ophthalmic referrals. He completed a medical degree with honours at the University of Western Australia in 2003 and master’s degree from the University of Sydney.
He trained at the prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital and completed a Corneal and Refractive Surgical fellowship at the internationally renowned Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. In addition he completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery.
His research has been published widely in international literature. He has a Master’s Degree from the University of Sydney and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. He holds consultant positions at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital.
Dr Cunneen has an interest in laser refractive surgery, cataract surgery and eyelid surgery and is happy to accept general ophthalmic referrals. He operates privately at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.
Dr Cunneen is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia, Treasurer of the WA branch of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Ophthalmology and on the board of the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists.
When he is not performing eye surgery he enjoys surfing and spending time with his wife and three young daughters.
