One of the worst Psychiatrists, no Doctors, I’ve ever come across.

I have a number of chronic conditions and I’ve seen many MANY doctors in my time, I feel am qualified to leave a review that you should pay attention to…

Dr Sacks is really quite a lovely man, he tells a good story, and is great for a chat.
But as a medical professional he’s ABSOLUTELY USELESS.

Dr Sacks charged me hundreds of dollars to pointlessly chat for 4 sessions, building up to a treatment crescendo of; learning how to ‘’breathe like a balloon’’
A concept that a child could pick up in 10 minutes.
A concept Dr Sacks needed 2 sessions (around $700) to explain.

A concept that was completely irrelevant at the time given I was in medical crisis that was NOT validated.

After faffing around with Dr Sacks for weeks IN SEVERE PAIN as he the ‘gatekeeper’ for Dr Lim (the ACTUAL pain specialist). I was admitted to hospital for 3 weeks under another pain specialist (via ED) needing serious medical intervention.
They were surprised I’d not been treated MUCH earlier, it was verging on medical negligence.

As well as being managed by a competent Pain Specialist, who actually intervened. I’ve gone on work with an EXCELLENT pain psychologist, who explained the same breathing technique in ten minutes… meaning we can do ACTUAL psychological work. I’d hate to think how long it would take Dr Sacks to get to this point given how much he likes to chat and repeat information.

If you’re a very slow learner who enjoy’s spending A LOT of money to endlessly chat with someone who has no sense of urgency, then this is the Dr for you.

Dr Sacks is a “nice”, but agonising waste of time and money.
