Profile: Dr Stephen Kelly is a Queensland trained specialist ENT surgeon and head & neck surgeon with expertise in all aspects of ENT surgery including otology, rhinology and voice disorders.He obtained his medical degree at Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He undertook internship and basic surgical training in the deanery of Northern Ireland, with one year spent in Queensland. Dr Kelly became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006. He undertook further postgraduate education, obtaining a Diploma of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007.Dr Kelly then undertook a five-year specialist ENT surgery training program in Queensland. He gained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.He completed a 12-month Rhinology and Otology Fellowship in 2018, in Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom, gaining experience in advanced otologic and rhinological surgical techniques.Dr Kelly has completed, published and presented research both in Australia, Great Britain and Ireland. He is an associate lecturer at the University of Queensland and actively mentors and supervises registrars in ENT training in Queensland, medical students and junior doctors at Ipswich Hospital. Dr Kelly is a member of the Multidisciplinary Head & Neck Oncology Clinic at Ipswich Hospital.
