Profile: Dr Spencer Murray is an English Urologist, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and member of the Urological Society of Australasia (USANZ). Dr Murray is joining South Coast Urology; predominantly based in Nowra, and also Wollongong.After Dr Murray's initial surgical training and first part surgical exams across southern England, he emigrated with Kate, his Tasmanian born wife, to Melbourne.He took up position as the inaugural Urology registrar at Frankston Hospital on the Mornington Peninsular. This appointment involved in assisting the hospital gaining post accreditation with RACS & USANZ.He was then appointed first to the advanced general surgical scheme and then the following year to the advanced Urological scheme. His training has involved placement at teaching hospitals In Melbourne, Hobart and Sydney. He passed his fellowship exams in 2012. His final year of training taking place at Wollongong.The interventions he proposes range from simple medical and lifestyle management, up to advanced endoscopic / laparoscopic surgery. He will work alongside the new cancer services center, providing urological input and as required.Dr Murray is well equipped to manage all common urological complaints, including: stone disease, uro-oncology, (Renal, Prostate, Bladder, testicular, penile), and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS). All simple (lower tract) endoscopic procedures, including trans urethral prostatectomies and bladder tumours, and scrotal surgery will be performed in Nowra. Nowra Private Hospital has recently purchased new uretero-renoscopes (rigid and flexible) and a Holmium Stone Laser.
