He has been a steering committee chair for the Federal Government, Department of Health and Aging funded, National Eating Disorder Collaboration, which has produced a comprehensive national framework document for the Federal Government for the development of preventative interventions, treatment and professional education programs for eating disorders in Australia.Dr Madden’s research has three major foci; the treatment of anorexia nervosa, early onset eating disorders and the neurobiology of eating disorders. Dr Madden has participated widely in national and international conferences, where he has been invited to present keynote addresses, plenary presentations, symposia and discussion panels on eating, mood and anxiety disorders.
