Profile: Dr Bagia specialises in Hepatobiliary Surgery (surgery of the liver, pancreas, gall bladder and bile ducts). Special interests: include: • Gastrointestinal surgery (including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy) • Benign and malignant conditions of liver, gallbladder and pancreas, • Gastrointestinal tract neuroendocrine tumors Dr Bagia attained her MBBS at Sydney University in 1995 and then continued with surgical training on the Central Sydney scheme. After attaining the fellowship in general surgery in 2002 she went on to complete post fellowship training in hepatobiliary surgery and transplantation in Liverpool UK, Birmingham UK and Pittsburgh USA. Her research interests include colorectal cancer liver metastases and preoperative staging of pancreas cancer. In 2013 she completed a Masters in Surgery (Surgical Oncology) at Sydney University on the diagnostic test accuracy of primovist MR in diagnosis of colorectal cancer liver metastases. Current research interests include optimizing care of chest trauma in a remote setting, and assessment of benign liver tumors using primovist MRI.
