I was referred to Dr Samriti Sood through RNSH McGrath Breast Nurse Samantha Moules when I found my breast cancer returned after care was transferred due to our move to Sydney. Dr Sood or Sam as she introduces herself made me feel comfortable from the very beginning of our what I would call partnership in health. All I could see when looking at myself in the mirror of my quite large breasts was cancer spreading its roots throughout my body due to this mass growing back into my left breast/nipple. Surgery is not recommended but I was insistent. All Sam had to do was convince her colleagues at the MDT meetings this was the right thing for me Annette stage 4 advanced metastatic beast cancer patient., and this she did, after all the risks of what could happen during & after surgery etc were explained (as with any surgery) I was finally given the clear to have my surgery. I told Sam not to worry if anything unfortunate was to happen I made the decision fully informed and I was happy. So here I am 1 week and a bit post surgery feeling absolutely fantastic (still healing) Sam has done an amazing job. I knew from my very 1st meeting with Sam everything was going to be alright. She is a truely gifted surgeon (artist) although I only have one nipple my breasts are the same size and look & feel perfect to me. Her PA Rena is wonderful they are the perfect fit. Sams before during and after care is amazing. She truly looks at the patient and their needs. She hasn’t and never will cured my disease but she did something better she fixed my imperfection (breast cancer lesion) it’s gone and my mental health and body image is back to well again and for that I will never be able thank her enough she is amazing. If your requiring a oncoplastic surgeon Dr Sam Sood is who I would recommend over and over again.
