Dr Hardwick graduated MB BS from University of Sydney with 1st class honours and the University Prize for proficiency in Paediatrics in 1982. He completed intern and RMO training at Hornsby and Kuring-gai Hospital, and undertook specialist paediatric training at the Children's Hospital (RAHC), Camperdown and in England. He commenced consultant paediatric practice in the Blue Mountains and Penrith areas in 1990 which continued until early 2001. Dr Hardwick was also the developmental paediatrician for the Neonatal Intensive Care Follow-up Clinic at Nepean Hospital, and consulted at Tresillian Wentworth. He commenced consultant paediatric practice in Sydney beginning in 2000. His practice location is at Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga. Dr Hardwick's primary clinical interests are broad, and include neonatal medicine, child and adolescent medicine, and assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental problems. Dr Hardwick has admitting rights for neonatal and paediatric patients at Sydney Adventist Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (since 1990) and a member of the Australian Medical Association and Kuring-gai District Medical Association. Dr Hardwick completed a Master of Medicine Degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney in 2005. Research interests include:- (1) quality and safety in healthcare; (2) the application of evidence-based medicine principles to the diagnosis and management of children with neurodevelopmental problems; and (3) clinical decision making. Dr Hardwick is also a Clinical Lecturer for medical students on the Graduate Medical Program from the University of Sydney at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
