He has considerable experience in the diagnosis and management of hyperacute stroke, on-going care of stroke patients and secondary stroke prevention. He is similarly experienced in the diagnosis and management of patients with dementia and delirium.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physician of Ireland and the Royal Australasian College of
Physicians. Ramesh was conferred a PhD by the University of Melbourne in 2013. He is actively involved in research and continues to be involved in national and international research trials. His research group at the Ballarat Health Services includes many of his junior colleagues whom he enjoys mentoring. He is published in various scienti c journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Neurology and Stroke.

Ramesh is affliated with the Global Burden of Disease Network and is an active member of the World Stroke Organization Education Committee and the Lancet Commission on Stroke in low and middleincome countries. He serves on two state level committees under the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services to promote equitable and safe delivery of care to stroke and delirium patients.

He teaches medical students from the University of Melbourne (UoM) and Deakin University and holds an honorary position as a Senior Fellow with the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences ofthe UoM.

He originally moved to Australia in 2008 and has called Ballarat home since February 2016.
