About Dr Rachael Oliver-Redgate
BSc, MBBS, FRACP
Education and training: Dr Oliver-Redgate initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Developmental Biology at University College London in 2002.She then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from University College London in 2007.She trained as a Junior Doctor in Exeter in the United Kingdom before migrating to Australia in 2009 and commenced internal medicine Physician Training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. She then underwent Advanced Speciality Training in General Medicine at Royal North Shore, Mona Vale, Manly and Sydney Adventist Hospitals. She continued with Advanced Specialty Training in Geriatric Medicine at Mona Vale, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Concord Repatriation Hospitals. Dr Oliver-Redgate was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General Medicine in 2015 and in Geriatric Medicine in 2018 (FRACP).She completed a Perioperative Medicine Course with Monash University in Melbourne in 2015 gaining valuable knowledge in complex perioperative care and attends the yearly Perioperative medicine Symposiums to ensure she is up to date with current practices.Areas of special interest/expertise Her clinical and research interests include Acute Geriatric Medicine, Dementia, and Perioperative Medical management of elderly patients and rehabilitation of the elderly. She has published and recently presented her research at both international and national conferences in Geriatric and General Medicine. She has been involved in three clinical trials currently running at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital researching new therapies for Dementia. She is committed to teaching and ongoing education and is involved in the FRACP clinical examinations as well as being a formative Medical Student clinical examiner Hospital appointments She presently holds appointments in Geriatric Medicine and Perioperative Orthopaedics at the Northern Beaches Hospital and is a senior lecturer at Macquarie Eniversity. Her private practice is also at Northern Beaches Hospital.
