Profile: After completing his undergraduate medical studies from University of Mumbai in India, Dr Pramod Menon did his specialist training in psychiatry in the United Kingdom going on to gain membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2008.In 2013, he completed the Royal College of Psychiatry higher specialist training in general adult psychiatry with additional endorsement in rehabilitation psychiatry, after which he worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the National Health Services of the UK. While in his clinical roles, Pramod has also obtained a postgraduate certificate in medical education (PGCE) from the UK and was engaged in research.In 2015, Pramod moved to Rockhampton and began working as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Rockhampton Hospital. In 2017, he achieved the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He also holds the title of ‘Lecturer’ at the University of Queensland (UQ).Having started his private clinic on a part time basis in June 2017, Dr Menon has decided to move into private practice fulltime from December 2018 onwards. He will be providing clinical services at the North Street Specialist Centre (71 North Street, The Range, 4700) and will be admitting to Archerview Clinic at Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.In addition to helping you to resolve your symptoms Dr Menon’s goal is to enable his patients to develop a vision that allows them to see beyond the constraints of their illness. He has a special interest in psychosis, mood, anxiety and eating disorders.Dr Menon also visits the Hillcrest Specialist Centres in Gladstone and Emerald for consultations on a regular basis.
