Dr Middleton graduated MB.BS from University of Sydney in 1980, and completed Surgical training at Westmead Hospital. He was subsequently a Fellow in Trauma at Westmead Hospital, and helped establish the Careflight Retrieval Service. He has been in private Surgical practice since 1991. Dr Middleton has an active interest in Breast Disease management. He is currently Director, Surgery and Surgical Training, Hornsby Hospital. He is a Committee Member of the Kuring-gai District Medical Association since 2002, Surgical Tutor at the Northern Clinical School, is an Accredited Surgeon at NSW Breast Screening, and is involved in coordination of breast cancer services in Northern Area Health Service. Dr Middleton is a member of the San Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Team, and is Clinical Director of Surgery & Anaesthetics at Hornsby Kuring-gai Hospital. Dr Middleton has specific interest in breast conservation surgery technique and Sentinel Node Biopsy, and in Thoroscopic Cervical Sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis. He also has interest in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, ventral hernia repair, along with most laparoscopic work. He also has an interest in both arterial and venous disease.
