Peter graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine, UK, in 2004. He underwent vocational training in both anaesthesia and pain medicine at the internationally renowned Barts and the London School of Anaesthesia. He later became a Consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine at St Bartholomew\'s and the Royal London Hospitals, London. After moving to Australia, Peter received specialist recognition from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM).
Pain medicine physician is the biopsychosocial assessment and management of persons with complex pain, especially when an underlying condition is not directly treatable. The scope of pain medicine supplements that of other medical disciplines, and utilises interdisciplinary skills to promote improved quality-of-life through improved physical, psychological and social function. Pain medicine prescribes medication, co-ordinates rehabilitative services, performs pain relieving procedures.
