• 01.11.2022Dr Flynn told my mother (a patient of his suffering stage 4 lung cancer) that she would be able to carry on as normal without complication after having a PleurX catheter inserted into her right lung to deal with a pleural effusion.
The procedure was booked for, and carried out on, Friday September 23rd, 2022 at Nepean Hospital.
As a Medibank Private patient, Mum was led to understand that Dr Flynn himself would be doing the procedure.
However, Dr Flynn – on the day of her procedure – turned up to introduce her to the surgeon who WOULD be doing it, then left.
The surgeon who performed the procedure (whose name I would dearly love to know for the sake of this review) administered the local anaesthetic and began the procedure. The local did not work correctly. The attending nurse, who was comforting my crying mother throughout, repeatedly informed the doctor that my mother was feeling EVERYthing but he carried on with the procedure without concern (seemingly).
My mother was sent home with no pain relief or post operation advice. Mum remained in extreme pain until Wednesday October 12th, when she was admitted to Hawkesbury Hospital to get her pain back under control.
I am unimpressed by Dr Peter Flynns – and his associates – bedside manner and lack of care towards their patients.

• 10.11.2022My father underwent a procedure at Nepean Private hospital on Monday 7th November.
It’s now Thursday, and we’re yet to receive a briefing on how the surgery went, which I find quite worrying.
Over the last few days, his blood pressure has been quite low. From what I understand, he was prescribed pressure medication, For which his cardiologist was shocked to hear.
He’s also very delirious. I understand this could be from pain medication, but when he’s asking where he is twice within 15 minutes, It’s a cause for concern.
