Dr Savvas graduated MB BS with first class honours from Sydney University in 1986, and undertook Registrar Training in Rheumatology at Royal North Shore Hospital in 1990. She became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in December 1992. In 1993, Dr Savvas took over Dr John Dick-Smith's practice in Hornsby, on his retirement. She has remained in private practice in Hornsby as a Consultant Physician in Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
