Profile: Dr Moreena Kwa is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr Kwa completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) at the University of Medicine 1 in Yangon, Myanmar and worked as a General Practitioner before moving to Australia. She completed her Australian medical council training in Sydney and internship at Wollongong hospital. Since she obtained her residency at Westmead Hospital, she has worked as a Rehabilitation Registrar at the following hospitals on rotation: Balmain Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Royal Ryde Hospital and Westmead Private Rehabilitation Hospital.She became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physician in 2015.Dr Kwa currently holds specialist posts in Hunter Hill Private Hospital, Mater Private Hospital, Delmar Private Hospital, Longueville Private Hospital and Manly Water Private Hospital.She brings with her a wide range of rehabilitation experience from Orthopaedic Rehabilitation after Joint Replacement and Post fracture, Pain management , looking after patients with disabilities post stroke and post injury which include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputee rehabilitation and people with neurodegenerative disorders (Parkinson disease and Multiple Sclerosis etc.).Dr Kwa also has a special interest in the geriatric population as well as expertise in managing the rehabilitation of their chronic pain, aiding their pain management and reconditioning from any further complex medical issues.Dr Kwa would be pleased to accept referrals from General Practitioners for assessment of their patient’s suitability for admission to an inpatient Rehabilitation or Day Rehabilitation program.
