Dr Michael De Souza graduated in 1990 from Monash University with Honours and has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has worked at various practices ranging from small clinics in rural Australia to fast-paced anaesthesiology departments in the UK. After a 12-month stint in the UK doing Anaesthetics Michael returned home to Australia to be closer to his family and ailing Grandmother. Michael is a highly respected practitioner having also trained at the Royal Children’s hospital and Royal Eye and Ear Hospital. He understands the importance of educating our future doctors and has for many years been actively be involved in teaching Medical students (and continues to do so)
General practitioner treats patients of all ages from newborn babies to elderly people. GP have an important role to play in the management of acute care, chronic diseases and the treatment of patients with multiple health conditions. General practitioner (GP) treat all common medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment. Another important part of the work of a GP is preventative medicine and health promotion, include child immunisation and lifestyle modification.
