Profile: Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Mei Cheah, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Mei graduated in Medicine from The University of Melbourne in 2006. She has worked in many areas of medicine and surgery, including neonatal intensive care before commencing her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Victoria.Mei has worked in Monash Health, Peninsula Health and Eastern Health during her course of specialist training. As part of her advanced training, she completed addition training at Flinders Medical Centre in the field of Reproductive Medicine and Minimally Invasive Surgery before obtaining her FRANZCOG in 2016. Mei currently holds a public appointment at Monash Health in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and is a member of the Practice Improvement Committee (PIC) for Monash Women’s. In addition to her clinical role, she is also the DRANZCOG training supervisor and an examiner for Monash University medical students. She was recently chosen as one of the Obstetrics Leads in the Women’s Healthcare Collaborative, a nationwide initiative to reduce severe perineal trauma.Mei is a practising Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with special interest in fertility surgery and advanced minimal invasive surgery. She is proficient in English and Malay, and is conversant in Cantonese and Mandarin. She is a firm believer in providing accessible, highest quality individualised care for all her patients.
