About Dr Matthew Sherlock

Dr Matthew Sherlock is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He has a particular interest in sports injuries, arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery of the shoulder. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at Sydney University, and completed his Orthopaedic training in Sydney on the Australian Orthopaedic Training Programme. Following this, Dr Sherlock spent eighteen months completing Fellowships in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive surgery of the Shoulder/Elbow and Knee in Canberra, and as the Arthroscopy Fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada. During this period, he also gained experience working with the pioneers of modern shoulder joint replacement in Nice and Lyon, France._x000D_ Dr Sherlock holds appointments at the Mater Misericordae Private Hospital in Crows Nest, the Sydney Adventist Hospital (San) in Wahroonga and Mona Vale Public Hospital. He is on the Upper Limb and Lower Limb trauma rosters at both the San and Mona Vale Hospitals and has vast experience in the management of adult and paediatric orthopaedic trauma._x000D_ Dr Sherlock is currently a consultant at the NSW Academy of Sport, Narrabeen and has worked as the team doctor for the Waratah Academy, Warringah and Gordon rugby clubs. He is actively involved in research in his field of expertise. He has presented at meetings both nationally and internationally.
