Introduction: Dr Pitney graduated from UNSW with honours in 1984. After completing his specialist training in Cardiology he underwent further advanced training in Interventional Cardiology (angioplasty and stenting). Since that time he has remained a high volume angioplasty operator and has been a faculty member of numerous National and International meetings. He continues to have a keen interest in new stent designs and devices. Dr Pitney is currently the Clinical Director of the Sutherland Heart Clinic and a director of the Eastern Heart Clinic at Prince of Wales Hospital.
