• 06.07.2021Mark Gilheany is a brilliant surgeon who gave me back flexibility in my left big toe after 35 years of pain and immobility! I had been a ballerina in my youth and started suffering from hallux rigidus from the age of 10, although I was able to dance professionally with the condition by the time I was 23 I had to retire from ballet and went on to teach for many years until the pain became unbearable. I saw several orthopedic surgeons with all recommending fusion of the toe joint as my only option so I researched online for years until finally finding Mark. Thank goodness I did! After 6 months I have a great deal of flexibility in the joint and no pain. I can walk easily without a limp and can actually wear heels again! I currently have around 70% of the flexibility of my other foot and extremely happy with that outcome however I anticipate further improvement over the next 6 months with continued exercise. If you suffer from this condition don’t put up with the pain and discomfort any longer than you need to. Go and see Mark ASAP!
