Profile: Dr Lani Prideaux is a consultant Gastroenterologist with a PhD in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis).Lani graduated from The University of Melbourne with honours and undertook her specialist Gastroenterology training at Monash Medical Centre and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. She received an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship and completed a fellowship and PhD in inflammatory bowel disease at St Vincent’s Hospital. Her PhD investigated the gut microbiota within and between Hong Kong and Australia, in Asians and Caucasians. Lani underwent further training at Cedars Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles working with world experts in inflammatory bowel disease management.Lani has published widely in national and international journals and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences. She has been a reviewer for a number of journals including Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Journal and BMC Gastroenterology Journal. She is also been a project grant reviewer for the USA based Broad Medical Research Program.
