Profile: Dr John Ozmen is a consultant general surgeon with accredited sub-specialty training in upper GI and bariatric surgery. He was awarded certificate of post-fellowship training by ANZGOSA in 2014. Bariatric and metabolic surgical training was completed at 2 IFSO bariatric surgery centres of excellence. The first at St George Private Hospital for 18 months and second at AZ Sint-Jan Hospital in Bruges Belgium for 6 months under Dr Bruno Dillemans, a world expert in bariatric surgery. Dr Ozmen performed over 500 bariatric cases during this time including lap banding, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and revisional procedures.
