About Dr Jeremy Shapiro

Profile: Graduating from Monash University in 1989, Dr Shapiro trained at the Alfred Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, before travelling to the United States in 1996 to complete a three year research fellowship in Gastro-Intestinal Cancer at the National CancerInstitute.Since his return, Dr Shapiro has continued his clinical research interests in Gastro-Intestinal cancer, whilst working as a medical oncologist Waverley Private Hopsital and as an Associate Professor in the Monash University, Department of Medicine.He is a lead researcher in the Australian Gastro-Intestinal Tumour Group, currently chairing two large International trials in refractory colorectal cancer, is the principal investigator on several other gastro-intestinal cancer trials is the national chair of EVIQ (evidence based Oncology protocols committee) and is the author of > 80 peer reviewed publications/abstracts.
