She was previously an Aerospace Engineer and the first woman to win the University Medal in this field from the University of NSW. She undertook ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.Jennifer completed a Cataract Fellowship at Monash Hospital where she gained substantial experience in cataract surgery. She undertook a second fellowship in oculoplastics at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. Jennifer also gained significant experience in tear duct surgery such as DCR (Dacryocystorhinostomy), including endoscopic (scar-less) DCR.Jennifer has a PhD in Medicine involving research for the Blue Mountains Eye Study, a landmark population-based study in ophthalmology. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.Jennifer has a public appointment at Monash Health.
