Profile: Dr Gemma Blain is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with experience in managing both normal and complex pregnancies. As a mother herself, she understands what a special time pregnancy is for a woman and her partner, and the importance of a collaborative approach to the pregnancy and birthing journey. Gemma recognises the importance of choice in the birthing experience, whilst ensuring the highest quality of care for both mother and baby. She is also an expert laparoscopic surgeon and also has particular interests in vulval disorders, management of abnormal menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, abnormal pap smears, and family planning issues.Following completion of a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Gemma completed her medical degree with Honours at the University of Sydney, and a Masters in Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Following her general obstetrics and gynaecology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Gemma undertook advanced training in gynaecology and laparoscopic surgery at the Royal Hospital for Women and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
