Dr Silviera did a great job of correcting my foot after another surgeon butchered it. I am waiting now for her to do the next and hopefully finish it.
She cares about her patients.A lovely lady.

I am a 63 year old male who has kept ft for most of my life and ruptured by Achilles’ tendon in an innocuous incident at home about 3 months ago. My GP recommended me to Dr Gayle Silveira of SA Foot & Ankle Surgery, where it was confirmed that surgery was my best option.
Dr Silveira was fantastic. She explained the procedure and the recovery process and after the first visit with Gayle, where she also removed the plaster cast that the GP put on my ankle, I was left with every confidence that I was in the right hands.
The surgery went well, and I had an overnight stay at the Ashford. Living in a moon boot for over 8 weeks is very frustrating, but essential.
I followed doctors’ orders and kept off my leg for the first 10 days, and then started to bear weight whilst wearing the moon boot.
I have to say the pain was minimal, and other than the first couple of nights home I did not need any pain relief. What I hated the most was sleeping in the moon boot.
I did some research and found a night splint. This kept my ankle pointed down, but was much easier to sleep in. Do a search on eBay for Achille’s tendon night splint, there are a number available.
I have been out of the moon boot for about 3 weeks now and walking without pain with only a slight limp. But taking it easy and careful. I see a physio shorty and hopeful that I can go for a run again sometime in the next 6 months.
I would recommend Dr Gayle Silveira to anyone needing help with ankle related issues. Her bed side manner is exemplary, and special mention to Genevieve, the receptionist. Always with a smile, follow ups and ringing me just to see how I am going.
Never have I had this type of follow up from a surgeon or the doctors surgery’s team before.
Dr Gayle Silveira at SA Foot & Ankle Surgery sets the standards that all Doctors and Surgeons should achieve.
Thank you so much Gayle I am so thankful and grateful to you.

Iam a 77 year old diabetic male who has played badminton socially since 1977. During a game last May I hurt my left foot chasing a shuttle and was in great pain. My podiatrist recommended me to Gayle Silveira. Gayle told me that surgery was required to reconnect the main tendon that connects to my big toe and controls all my foot movements. The pre operation scans showed that my tendons were compromised due to diabetes, and that she would ensure a great outcome provided I followed her advise at all times. I was operated on at Calvary Central Districts hospital and stayed in hospital overnight. I was surprised at how little pain I had after the operation. I spent just over three months in a moon boot. I have had a night splint and currently am wearing a foot brace. I am still pain free and walking once again as normal. Throughout this procedure Gayle has been extremely caring and careful with my condition. She explains each stage and outcomes extremely clearly.
Both Gayle and Emma the receptionist have been very pleasant and professional in their dealings with me.
I would thoroughly recommend to anyone with a foot or ankle problem to go to SA Foot & Ankle surgery as Gayle Silveira sets a high standard of care and for me great outcomes.

I am most grateful Gayle for the treatment you gave me, and while I will never be able to play badminton again, I can now get back to a normal life. Thank you for everything.
