About Dr Gauri Gogna

Profile: Dr Gogna initially completed her medical training in Dublin, Ireland completing her medical degree with honours in 2009. She then completed her FRACP/FAChPM training in palliative care medicine in 2018 in Queensland, with experience across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This allowed for experience with multiple specialists and multidisciplinary teams and has provided her with the skills to manage patients’ with both malignant and non malignant disease processes. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team and am passionate about providing holistic care for patients in both the community and inpatient settingDr Gogna is an associate with the University of queensland and has a passion for ongoing education. She is widely published and has an ongoing interest in research. She is a peer-reviewer for journal article submissions to the Internal Medicine Journal, the official publication of the Adult Medicine Division at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). She also was the national trainee representative for the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, and had the privilege of advocating for her peers for four years.Dr Gogna has an ongoing interest in early integration of palliative care to provide holistic care for patients’ with serious disease, and manage their often complex symptoms. This allows for ongoing treatment to extend survival and improve overall quality of life. It also allows for patients’ and their famillies to become familiar with and receive support from palliative care. She is also focused on early advocate care planning to facilitate maintaining patient autonomy and informed decision making.

• 13.07.2023Would not recommend for Pallative Care if you are expecting CARE. Failing to contact NOK during process or even after the patients death provides background to this.
