Paediatrician specialises in the treatment of neonates, infants, children and adolescents. Paediatrician treats a wide range of illnesses, injuries and conditions. They often examine and treat babies immediately after birth. They can assess and if necessary, resuscitate newborns and manage treatment of premature babies. Radiologists are able to understand and explain medical conditions through the medical imaging of the internal parts of a patient’s body. Most radiologists in Australia work in general radiology with diagnostic imaging, comprising X-ray, computerised tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and nuclear medicine imaging techniques, to obtain images that are interpreted to assist in diagnosis.
